Carole and myself attended a landscape photography course in the Peak District yesterday. Excellently led by professional photographer Simon Watkinson we covered a lot of techniques culminating in a studio session looking through our photos in Adobe Lghtroom Classic. We investigated conversions to Black and White and the use of masking tools to enrich our images.

I have known Simon for many years and attended numerous training workshops including a trip to Nepal back in 2010 and many UK based workshops.

Great day out with Simon last Saturday. Just two of us learning the intricacies of hyperfocal distance, effects of diffraction etc. Also a chance to have a first play with the joys of Live View - why did I not investigate this sooner! Nice gentle theory session in the morning, but all explained very simply and clearly, greatly assisted by Tammy's coffee, tea and ginger nuts.

After a good pub lunch we got down to the practical side at some great locations in and around The Roaches. Many thanks - now it is time to practice. Looking forward to receiving details of Simon's next new workshop on mastering Exposure.

Had a great day of private tuition with Simon yesterday. A bit of landscape work and a bit of processing. Plus my laptop is no longer a random colour generator.

Thanks Simon and Tammy.

Spend yesterday with Simon Watkinson showing me how to shoot landscapes, what an amazing day!

In a trade full of wannabes Simon really knows what he's talking about and along with him being a really nice bloke, I would defiantly recommend his training to anyone looking at wanting to learn more, or just get some great shots!

I would just like to say a big thank you to Simon Watkinson (World In Focus) for last Thursday’s 121 Photographic discussion on Nepal and showing me some new camera skills.

When leaving Simons studio my head was buzzing. Thank goodness for the drive home, it gave me time to digest what had happened during the day.
